Arrival & Dismissal

Please read this notice very carefully and share it with any and all persons who may drop off and/or pick-up your child.  This includes grandparents, nannies, sitters and any persons designated on your pick-up list.

For the safety of our preschoolers, your child must be dropped off and picked up by an adult at their scheduled arrival/dismissal time.

PLEASE use the parking lot in front of the gym (The Family Center) to park and use the appropriate walk way to cross.  You will enter through the black gates in between Kohl’s Hall and the Gym and then proceed into the Main Entrance of Assumption ECLC building to drop off/pick-up your child.

We cannot stress enough the importance of:

  • Holding your child’s hand when coming from or going to your car.
  • Keeping social conversations to a minimum so that children are safely in your care.
  • Greeting your child upon drop off/pick-up, whether in car or walking – CELL PHONES SHOULD NOT TO BE USED AT THIS TIME!

Children who are registered for Preschool Full Day may be dropped off beginning at 7:00 am.  They must be walked in with a parent or adult.

Children who are registered for the VPK and Preschool with Extended Day may drop off beginning at 7:30am.  VPK begins promptly at 8:00am.

Parents may drop off Preschool children at the doors of the classrooms between 7:00am-8:30am (Infants may be dropped off at the classroom at any time). After 8:30am, the hallway door will close and a staff member will be required to escort you child down to the classroom.  This will help prevent interruptions to circle and lessons once class instruction begins.  Please keep conversations during drop off to a minimum.  Teachers must have their attention on the children in their care.

It is crucial that your child arrive on timeWhen our children arrive late, the routine or whole trajectory of the day is affected.  If being late is a pattern, it damages a child’s motivation towards learning and school in general.

Parent should make every effort to pick up their child on time.  Late pickups create upset children and incur fees.  VPK only dismissal is at 11:00am at the door of the classroom.  Preschool School Day parents may pick up their children at the door of the classroom between 2:30pm-3:10pm.  Please keep conversations during pick up to a minimum.  Teachers must have their attention on the children in their care.

For dismissal between 3:10pm-5:30pm, a staff member will retrieve your child from the playground and bring them to the lobby.

  • Preschool School Day dismissal after 3:00 pm (late pick-ups will be billed at $6/hour)
  • VPK only dismissal after 11:00am (late pick-ups will be billed at $6/hour)
  • Preschool Extended Day dismissal after 5:30pm (late pick-ups will incur a $20 fee + $2.00 per minute after 5:30pm)

After Care is available from 3:00pm-5:30pm Monday-Friday.  The fee per hour (or any part of the hour) is $6.00

Authorized Persons on Pick-Up List

The only person authorized to pick-up your child is the custodial parent or persons designated on your pick-up list.  Proper identification is required.  Please add or make changes on your Parent RenWeb account or contact the Front Office to change or add a name to the pick-up list.  If the name of the said person is NOT on the pick-up list they will NOT be able to pick your child up, unless the Director is notified in writing and /or by phone.

Philosophy Statement
Founded in Christ, the Assumption Early Childhood Learning Center creates a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children beginning at infancy.  The teachers and staff care for and value each child, as a gift from God, and entirely promote their physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual growth.  In partnership with families, children leave Assumption with the skills that provide them with a seamless transition into kindergarten.  Each child develops a sense of confidence, autonomy, self-discipline, respect, and love of God and neighbor.
